Family Class

The laws of Canada prioritize re-uniting families; this class allows citizens and permanent residents of Canada to sponsor their family members: you can sponsor your spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner as well as your parents or grandparents as long as they meet all the requirements.

Spouse, Common-law Partner, or Conjugal Partner

Under the Family Class, you may sponsor your spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner to join you in Canada. Generally speaking, income requirements applicable to other sponsorships, such as sponsorship of parents and grandparents, do not apply when you are sponsoring a spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner. Therefore, regardless of your income, you can sponsor your spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner and your dependent children for immigration to Canada.

Brothers and Sisters

The same general rules regarding sponsorship of a spouse also apply to sponsorship of an orphaned brother or sister who is still a minor. Sponsorship of orphaned brothers and sisters falls under the same general category as sponsorship of a nephew/niece or grandchildren if they are orphans, under 18 years of age and not married or in a common-law relationship.

Brothers and sisters over 18 and adult independent children are not eligible to be sponsored. In the event that they apply to immigrate under the Skilled Worker Class, they may receive extra points for adaptability.

Your Best Chances

During our consultation, we will determine if your spouse is eligible to sponsor you, as it would be devastating to go through the process only to realize that your spouse was ineligible to sponsor you or your application was filed under the wrong class. Our thorough assessment and preparation allow your application to be placed within the optimal sponsorship stream.

Despite a popular believe that family sponsorship applications are simple and do not require professional assistance, this category has too much at risk when things go wrong. A simple mistake may cause complications or rejection. We will critically review all the facts and manage every detail of your file to ensure successful processing.
